Bird watching and the catch of the day

From Bariloche, we flew south to El Calafate where we went bird watching in Laguna Nimez Nature Reserve. We stayed in Califate 1 night before boating to the remote Estancio Cristina via Lake Argentino which was full of icebergs and pretty amazing. The sun was out so the ice was surprisingly active as we were taking in views of the surrounding mountains. A little tidbit on glaciers and icebergs that we learned back in New Zealand: the bluer the color, the older and more dense the ice. We saw many shades of blue from frosty whitish, to deep marine, to the stunning emerald blue-green of freshly exposed ice.
