Photo impressions of Valparaíso

We spent 4 days in the bustling port city of Valparaíso about 1,5 hours drive from Santiago. The city is a disorganized mess, and on first impression a bit of a dump. But on closer look, it is vibrant, exciting and colorful, with a truly unique personality. Valparaíso is a city that has inspired some of Chile’s most famous poets and artists with its steep winding streets, brightly painted houses, crumbling buildings, and many funiculars. It’s hard to capture the feeling of the city in words, so we hope that these pictures can help convey the wonderful chaos that is Valparaíso.

I tried a few in the Elqui Valley, but kind of had my fill of pisco sours (if that’s possible) by this point. We looked, but unfortunately not one single pisco picture from Valparaíso.
